Oct 22, 2016 · The harness out of the motor appears to be fine, connectors seated, and the wiring entering the display seems fine There are no bent pins in the display and harness connectors The display is pretty beat up - it banging up against other stuff in the box during shipping, and the face is quite scraped up A few questions:. .
Gear oil has been known to creep up the cable and muck up the sensor and speedo. It if has, there is an o-ring in the transfer case that will need to be replaced so it doesn't happen again. If you disconnect the speedo cable at the transfer case, it will make the removal of the cluster that much easier. It might be one of these o-rings. cmichael.

28 Posts Discussion Starter · #2 · Jul 24, 2011 Okay. I replaced the speed sensor ($58) from the dealer. It did not fix the problem. The speedometer backlights. The odometer mileage is displayed but does not change. The trip meter stays the same and does not change. The directionals don't self cancel any more. All codes clear.
423 Posts. #2 · Apr 30, 2015. Could be a number of reasons the plug for the hall sensor came undone, the hall sensor failed or the wire to it broke, the speedo is broken just to name a few. Does anything work on the speedo like the various gauges, fuel, hour, shift position,etc? 2011 Sportsman 500HO.Front & rear bumpers, 2-up box.winch,26" pxt.
